Rhinoplasty
Nose surgery, also known as Rhinoplasty or Rhinoseptoplasty, is one of the usual cosmetic surgery operations at our Clinic in Las Palmas; certainly one of the star treatments of the Canarian Institute of Medicine and Aesthetic Surgery.
Our plastic surgeon, Dr. de los Ríos, together with his medical team, they will always seek harmony and functionality. And it is that an operated nose should not only be pretty, but it should work properly y be provided with the patient's face. That is why each surgery is unique... and that is how we approach it.
What is our standard? For a Rhinoplasty to have the stamp "made in ICMCE "You have to have a natural result, that is to say, that the nose that has been operated on is not appreciated.
We invite you to learn about the modern technique known as Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty, which we carry out at ICMCE.
Blood analysis, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray and photographs.
It will depend on the complexity of each case; but in general, we could say that the intervention for a Rhinoplasty could take about 2 hours.
Yes, Rhinoplasty at ICMCE Las Palmas requires general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation
In some cases, the patient may need to stay overnight at our Clinic in Las Palmas.
- Normally a splint is applied on the back, which is removed after ten days.
– The nose is packed with a permeable pad (for a few hours or three days), which allows the passage of air; during that time the patient will temporarily breathe through the mouth.
– Lymphatic drainage is recommended with our lymphotherapist, Rosa Santana, once the splint and nasal plugs have been removed.
Regarding the postoperative evolution, we can say that Rhinoplasty is an intervention that is not painful at all, although bruises and swelling frequently appear in the area around the eyes, for a few days.
There are several rhinoplasty techniques (nose surgery) and depending on each case, the incisions are different. We carry out in Las Palmas:
-Closed rhinoplasty, in which the incisions are placed inside the nostrils (nostrils).
-Open rhinoplasty, in which an incision is made in the skin that separates the two nostrils (columella).
Once the dressing is removed, the nose will still be slightly swollen and it will take some time, which may vary from patient to patient, to see the final result.
